What is the programme?

Scaleup North East is not just another funding programme. The support we give is led by the needs of your business; it’s not a blanket approach where one size fits all.

Our commitment to you is to get behind your business, invest time, energy and resources in your business and advise on growth strategies so that your business can be the best it can be.

How to get involved?

Over the next three years, we will be working with eligible companies across the North East to invite them to join the programme.

To get involved in the Scaleup North East programme, your business must:

  • Be based in the North East Local Enterprise Partnership area (Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham)
  • Have less than 250 employees (FTE's)
  • Have an annual turnover of less than £50 million
  • Operate in an eligible ERDF sector *
  • Have the mindset, drive and ambition to scale within the leader/leadership team
  • Be experiencing year on year growth
  • Have a scalable business model
  • Ideally have been trading for 3+ years
  • Ideally have at least five employees
  • Probably have a turnover of more than £250,000 per year.

*We cannot support business operating in the banking and insurance sectors
