Ian Murphy, Operations Manager at Protech City and Craig Huntingdon, Scaleup Partner, Scaleup North East
Data disposal experts Protech City have expanded into larger, custom-built premises after receiving support from Scaleup North East.
An ADISA accredited IT asset disposal and data destruction organisation, the company joined the Scaleup North East programme in 2018, looking for support and guidance with regards to overcoming barriers to growth, Ian Murphy, Operations Manager explained:
“When we first joined the programme, we were part of a group of companies. We since spilt and became the independent business we are today. Our Scaleup partner Craig Huntingdon was brilliant and has provided us with the guidance and confidence we needed to be able to realise our full scaling potential.
“Through his background and own experience of running a business, Craig was able to advise on how large corporate organisations work when it comes to procuring services, which we found extremely beneficial.”
Delivered by RTC North, Scaleup North East forms an integral part of the North East Growth Hub and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The programme is aimed at supporting North East-based businesses that can demonstrate both the hunger and potential to achieve high levels of growth
The Scaleup North East programme provided Ian and the team at ProTech City with guidance and insight with regards to growing all areas of the business. An action plan is already proving beneficial for the business.
“It helped us pinpoint crucial areas of the business where a substantial improvement could be made. This has enabled us to re-brand the business and launch a new website,” added Ian.
As a result of the growth that the business has experienced lately, they have been awarded ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001. That alongside their ADISA certification means that they are set to continue to grow.
